Hope Is Where The Heart Is

We want to help you become the person God has created you to be. Friendly people, casual atmosphere, Scripture-based teaching.

Who We Are

The Church of New Beginnings is a non-denominational church located in Sullivan, Indiana. When you visit, you’ll find friendly people, a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, and practical, relevant teaching from the Scriptures.

We invite you to join us for worship and the Word — and stay for lunch and fellowship following the service. We believe church is not just a place you attend, but a family you belong to.

Our Mission

The Church of New Beginnings is called to be a hospital for the sick, the lost, and those struggling with addiction. We believe no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace and transforming power.

Our church was founded on the vision that we would be known as a church:

  • That recognizes God reigns
  • That boldly declares Jesus is Lord
  • Where the Holy Spirit is free to move and work
  • Where the power of the enemy is defeated through Christ

Our church is not about numbers or money. It is about people.

We want to see:

  • The lost saved
  • The captive delivered
  • The sick healed in Jesus’ name

This is the heartbeat of The Church of New Beginnings.

Our desire is to see the Spirit of God move powerfully among us. We long to see the glory of God revealed — not just in individuals, but in our entire church family.

We believe God is building a glorious, victorious church that goes forward in faith — seeing the lost saved, those bound by sin set free, and lives transformed by the power of Jesus Christ.

Service Times

We are not a country club of Christians – we consider our church as a spiritual hospital for the sick, the lost, the broken, the forgotten. Our vision is to be a place where the broken find healing, the lost find direction, and the forgotten find belonging through the transforming love of Jesus Christ.

Our Pastors

Pastor Cecile DeLaGarza

Pastor Cecile DeLaGarza serves The Church of New Beginnings with a shepherd’s heart and a deep love for God and His people. Following the untimely passing of our founding pastor, Pastor Raz DeLaGarza, she prayerfully stepped into leadership during a challenging season for our church family. With courage and deep trust in the Lord, she has helped guide the congregation through a time of grief and transition, gently leading us toward healing, unity, and renewed hope.

Since stepping into pastoral leadership in 2023, Pastor Cecile has been known for her thoughtful and reflective preaching style. Her messages are grounded in Scripture, rich with practical wisdom, and delivered with a gentle clarity that invites both growth and transformation.

Pastor Cecile is a graduate of Liberty University’s School of Divinity, where she earned her Master’s Degree in Christian Ministry with High Distinction. Her ministry is shaped by both thoughtful theological study and a sincere desire to serve God and His people.

Along with her ministry preparation, Pastor Cecile brings extensive professional experience in finance and leadership. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Management.

She believes that true leadership—both in the church and in the community—is rooted in service, integrity, faithful stewardship and honoring God through wise and ethical decisions.

Pastor Cecile treasures walking alongside this church family — celebrating milestones, offering comfort in difficult seasons, and pointing hearts toward Christ.

Our Founder - Pastor Raz DeLaGarza

Pastor Raz DeLaGarza, a native of Dallas, Texas, was the beloved founding pastor of The Church of New Beginnings. In May of 2020, after years as a successful businessman in the housing industry, he faithfully answered the call God had placed on his life and established this church in Sullivan, Indiana.

Though he built many homes throughout his career, Pastor Raz often said the House of God was the greatest house he ever built.

A devoted prayer warrior, he could often be found early in the morning on his knees in the sanctuary, worshiping and interceding. He loved God above all else and considered being a pastor his highest calling and greatest honor. His ministry was firmly rooted in one foundation: Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

Pastor Raz was known for his humility, compassion, generosity, and fatherly love for his church family. He never hesitated to pray with anyone, anywhere. His faith was steadfast, his heart was tender toward people, and his sense of humor brought joy to those around him.

He carried a deep burden for souls and a passion for revival — longing to see lives healed, restored, and transformed by the power of God. His legacy continues in the spirit of faith, prayer, and hope that defines The Church of New Beginnings today.

We remain deeply grateful for Pastor Raz’ obedience, his vision, and the firm spiritual foundation he laid — a foundation that continues to bless generations to come.

Ways We Help

We want to help you become the person God has created you to be. Community outreach is a core tenet of our young and growing congregation. We are active in our work and broad in our reach.

Community Outreach

We actively serve our community through programs like food distribution, food baskets and Operation Christmas Child. Our initiatives are designed to provide support, hope, and care for those in need, making a real difference in people’s lives.

Fellowship & Events

Every Wednesday at 6:00 PM and each Sunday after service, we gather for dinner and fellowship as a church family. Throughout the year, we also host special events such as Fall outings, Labor Day, Memorial Day, and Fourth of July celebrations, our Church Anniversary, retreat cruises, and gatherings through our Women of Faith and Men’s Ministry. These moments together help us build meaningful relationships, strengthen our church family, and create joyful memories as we grow in faith and community.

Spiritual Growth

Through worship services, Bible studies, Sunday school, Discipleship program, sermon series, counseling and other special programs, we guide individuals on their spiritual journey. Our goal is to inspire faith, encourage personal growth, and empower people to bring positive change to their families and communities.

Our Outreach

At The Church of New Beginnings, we believe that faith is expressed through action. Our outreach programs help families in need, support local shelters, and share hope and love with communities near and far.

Blessing Box

We keep our Blessing Box stocked with food and essentials, available anytime for anyone in need.

Easter, Thanksgiving & Christmas Baskets

We prepare and distribute special holiday baskets to bless families with meals during the festive season.

Support for Missions

We actively support local and global missions, helping spread the message of Christ’s love worldwide.

Operation Christmas Child

Every year, we participate in Operation Christmas Child by packing and sending shoe boxes filled with joy and hope to children across the globe.

Prayer Tent

We set up a Prayer Tent during the local festival to provide a welcoming space where people can receive prayer, encouragement, and spiritual support. We believe the church is called to go beyond its four walls and actively engage with the community, bringing hope and care to where people are.

Support for the Needy

We provide practical assistance (utility, rent, medical, temporary housing), meals, and other resources to individuals and families struggling to meet daily needs.
